The Idea of Soulmate

(Art of Leonardo da Vinci)

The picture I've chosen for this blog entry is of Leonardo da Vinci's Vitruvian Man. It also illustrates a point of an ancient Greek philosopher, Plato. Among all the other great theories Plato has given us, he also spoke about soul mates. His idea about soulmates was that humans originally consisted of four arms, four legs, and two faces. Zeus who was known as the God of Sky and Thunder in Greek Mythology was threatened by their power and split them all in half, condemning us all to spend our lives trying to complete ourselves.

Is that all true? Does that make any sense?
As a human who holds into a religion and I believe in my God, there's no way that human's once shaped like that, even the other God that so called Zeus. But I can't deny that the theory of searching for mate of our own soul is attracting me and I couldn't help but wonder, how actually is the concept of Soulmate works?
According to the image of Vitruvian Man, is it means that so if we've finally found our mate, then we will have two faces? four legs? four hands? like literally? That would be creepy rite?
All I just can think is just.. Basically, God  has created everything in this whole world in pairs, include the human and its mate..

“And of everything We have created pairs.” [Al-Qur’aan 51:49] This refers to things other than humans, animals, plants and fruits. It may also be referring to a phenomenon like electricity in which the atoms consist of negatively – and positively – charged electrons and protons.
“Glory to Allah, Who created In pairs all things that The earth produces, as well as Their own (human) kind And (other) things of which They have no knowledge.” [Al-Qur’aan 36:36]
The Qur’aan here says that everything is created in pairs, including things that the humans do not know at present and may discover later.

Ketika sesungguhnya kesempurnaan hanya milik Tuhan semata,
